If you haven’t started making spring decor for your house yet and don’t know where to begin, then this craft idea by Chalk It Up Fancy on YouTube is the perfect project for you! Learn how to easily transform a simple Dollar store sign into a show-stopping and truly adorable wall decor with this video tutorial. You can finish this project in just a few minutes without the need for any special tool, just grab your favorite hot glue gun and gather some leftover paint, and then start working on your decor craft.
Step 1
Coat the mason jar sign with black paint, then allow it to dry completely, or use a hair dryer to quicken up the drying process, and repeat another coat until completely black. After the second coat of paint has dried, roughly paint the sign white for a rustic look, and let it dry. Place the sign at the bottom of the burlap canvas, then place the ferns behind the jar’s lid, and arrange them however you want.

Step 2
Remove the sign, then dab an ample amount of hot glue to the bottom of the ferns to hold them in place, and adhere a piece of felt or cloth on top of the hot glue for a stronger hold. Dab hot glue on top of the felt piece on the bottom of the ferns, then add more glue at the back of the sign and adhere the sign back into place. Now, make sure to remove the stem off of each flower, then adhere them on top of the mason jar’s lid and above the ferns, and arrange them however you want.
Step 3
Cut the pattern that you want from the decoupage paper, then remove the backing paper, spread some varnish all over the sign, and lay the decoupage paper on top. Place a piece of plastic wrap on top, then remove the wrinkles on the paper using your fingers, take the plastic off, and trim off the excess paper around the edges. Gently brush more varnish all over the sign, then let it dry, and display your new project.
