Try making this decorative wheelbarrow planter made out of woods and give your garden a rustic touch! Learn how to bring this woodworking project to life through this video tutorial by Steve Ramsey – Woodworking for Mere Mortals on YouTube.
Start by curving the bottom of 2 pallet baseboards on one end to make the handle, measure how wide you’d like your handle to be, then cut small flat pallets, and place them all over the middle of the 2 handles. Drill holes on each side, then drill a larger hole at the bottom end of the handle to insert a round wooden rod later, layout the flat pallet pieces then start securing it with nails. Grab 2 longer pieces of a pallet and join them together with glue and nails, this will be the wall of the wheelbarrow but it needs to be angled at both sides.
Use a jigsaw to cut out the angle, then repeat the process until you’ve got all 4 sides fit together. Create a round wooden wheel, then make a hole at the center and insert the wooden rod. Make 2 small holes on each side of the wheel, then place it between the axle, and insert the wooden rod on both of them. Lock the wheel in place by inserting a small piece of wood into the small hole you drilled on the rod. Secure all of the parts in place with either nails or screws.
