Materials:

  • River rocks or any flat and smooth rocks
  • Spray paint, different colors
  • Nylon sheet
  • Mulch or dirt

Directions:

Step 1

Gather some rocks by the river as they are the perfect stones to use, because some of them are relatively flat and smooth, plus you can find some that resembles flower petals. However, if you don’t have any river nearby or you don’t want to do such task, then you can grab stones that are similar, as long as they are flat and smooth, then you’re all good. After gathering the stones, group them according to their sizes, then start forming them into flower. The rest of the stones will then be used for the garden bed edging. Grab the stones that you will be using and give them a good wash using soap and water. Let the stones dry completely before you start painting them. Lay a large piece of cardboard on top of your working surface, then place the stones on top.

Step 2

Start spray painting the stones makign sure you’re about 7 to 15 inches away and keep the can as vertical as possible for a smoother finish. Leave the paint the dry completely, then turn the stones over and paint the other side. Do not spray too much paint to avoid it from flowing down. Use different colors of paint, then let dry completely before using them. Find a spot on your garden where the stone flowers would look nice and start outlining or edging using the leftover stones. Start placing the rock flowers however you want, you can start with the big ones first and fill the spaces with smaller ones. Alternative base for the stone flowers is to add a nylon sheet or leave the ground as it is and cover it with mulch or dirt.
