This cute DIY project idea by Kary DIY on YouTube is the perfect decoration for your home or gift to a loved one! Instead of buying real cactus plants, just gather some pebbles and rocks, then transform them into cute fake cactus plants that require no caring and maintenance at all. Try making it now and be amazed by the results.

Materials:

  • Small pebbles or gravel or aquarium rocks, for the vase or glass bowl
  • Potting soil
  • Different-sized pebbles, for the cactus
  • Acrylic paint, dark green, light green, red or pink, white
  • Glass paint, gold
  • Paintbrush
  • Foam brush
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Newspaper
  • Vase or glass bowl

Directions:

Step 1

Lay a newspaper on your work surface to catch any paint splatters, then decide the shape and form of your cactus, you can do whatever shape you want as long as the larger pebbles are the main body and the smaller pebbles for the arms and crown. Paint the pebbles with 2 shades of green to give them some depth, then add some white paint for details, and red paint for the crown. Let the paint dry completely before you start adhering the pieces together with hot glue, then let it dry again to make sure they’re sturdy.

Step 2

While letting the paint on the pebbles dry completely, prepare the glass bowls. Place some tape around the bowl however you want, then start painting inside the tape border that you made, let the paint dry completely, and peel off gently. Fill the bowl with some rocks in different colors, then position the cactus on top adding more rocks around to support it and make it stand right up. You’re all done, you can now make more of this!
