Deciding on a wreath to make for Valentine’s Day proved to be difficult with all of the options that you can choose from. I was looking for something very simple and neat, but at the same time, it should be lovely, and that’s when I saw this burlap heart wreath by Nathalie Creates Crafts on YouTube.

This heart wreath is so beautiful and it looks easy to put together, but what caught my interest the most is the fact that all of the materials used in this project can be found in the nearest Dollar store!

Materials for DIY Farmhouse Heart Wreath:

  • Heart wire wreath frame
  • Rope
  • Wired burlap ribbon, brown and pink
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Scissors
  • Pliers

How to Make a DIY Farmhouse Heart Wreath:

Step 1

Hot glue the end of the rope to the center of the 2nd point of the heart wreath frame, then start wrapping the rope around the 2 inner wires. After a couple of rows, wrap the rope only around the 2nd wire, then continue to wrap both wires and repeat this alternately until you reach the center of the heart.

Step 2

Make sure to push the ropes closely and tightly together, then secure the end of the rope to the wire with hot glue, and repeat all of the steps to the other side of the heart until completely covered.

Step 3

Cut 30 pink burlaps at 6 inches, then fold it down in half, and again in half lengthwise before cutting it from the folded edge at an angle. Open the burlap piece, then pinch the center, and fold it in half sideways.

Step 4

Flip the weather over to the wrong side, then hot glue the burlap to the bottom of the rope, and do the same for the rest. Flip the wreath over to its right side, then push the burlap at the edges over to the wire, and then cut the brown burlap the same way you did with the pink ones.

Step 5

Turn the wreath over to the wrong side again, then insert the brown burlap into the lowermost wire as shown in the video, and secure it with hot glue. Make a bow with brown burlap, then adhere it to the front center of the heart, and add a piece of rope on top of the wreath for hanging.
