I use mine for washing dishes, and I have a few for cleaning around the kitchen. It’s also a great craft-to-sell idea for local craft fairs in your place or as a personalized gift for your loved ones. And if you’re a quilter or a tailor, you probably have a stash of fabric scraps. You can use those and turn them into these adorable dish rags! Watch the video tutorial below to learn the step by step process, or continue reading down to read the full written instructions. Thanks to Monica Rose for this fantastic sewing tutorial.

Materials:

  • different printed fabrics
  • terrycloth
  • quilting square ruler
  • pen/marker
  • scissors
  • sewing machine

Directions:

Step 1

Grab the terrycloth fabric and start tracing squares on it using a marker, then cut them. Repeat these steps on the printed fabric. Next, line one terrycloth square and one printed fabric, facing down, then sew a straight stitch all the way around, leaving a gap. (Square measurements depend on how you like your dish rags.)

Step 2

Once done sewing, trim off the excess fabric as well as the corners, then turn it right side out. Press it afterward, then sew the gap close. Repeat these steps to make more dish rags.
