Materials:

  • Wooden board, for the base
  • Light bulb socket
  • Moss sheet
  • Hammer
  • Wide PVC pipe, white, or any color you want
  • Bend PVC pipe, white, or any color you want
  • Single tee PVC pipe, white, or any color you want
  • Adhesive or hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Dome cap, to cover each end of the pipe
  • Sand, for weight
  • Spray paint, green
  • Rope, green, or painted green
  • Scissors or cutter, to cut the rope
  • Embellishment, optional

Directions:

Step 1

Place the light bulb socket at the center of the wooden board, then mark where the holes are, remove the socket, and pre-drill holes on those marks. Place the socket back on the board and screw them in place, then cut a hole at the center of the moss sheet making sure that the socket’s center would fit right in, and then apply a generous amount of glue all over the board before placing the moss sheet nicely as shown in the video. After adhering to the sheet flatly and nicely, apply adhesive or glue around the top edge of the socket, then place the pipe piece on top lining them up nicely, and make sure to press it down using a hammer.

Step 2

Keep on adding more layers of pipe, then pour sand inside to add weight to the bottom of the pipe, and then continue to add the rest of the pipe pieces until the cactus start coming into shape. Place the dome-shaped lid on the end of each pipe to close it and make sure to adhere them by adding glue around the inner sides. Spray paint the whole piece with green, then paint the rope green as well, and allow them to dry completely. Wrap the rope around the pipe cactus until fully covered as shown in the video, then make sure to add hot glue as you go, and start from the bottom and all the way up. You can add some decoration that you want and you’re done!
