I’ve seen and tried many similar projects to this cross and crown quilt block before but this one by Teresa DownUnder on YouTube has been my favorite so far. What I also love about this quilt block is how versatile the pattern and form of the block itself depending on how you want to arrange them.

This is also a quilt block that’s very easy to put together which makes it perfect even for beginners to try. Learn the steps now by reading the written instructions down below and while you’re at it make sure to watch the video tutorial as well for more details.
Step 1
Cut 2 squares at 6⅞” in blue floral fabric, then 2 squares at 4½” in yellow print fabric, 2 squares at 4½” and 4 squares at 3½” in solid cream, 4 squares at 3″ in navy blue print, 1 square at 1½” in navy blue print, and 4 strips at 1½x6½” in solid cream.
Step 2
Get the 4 navy blue squares and draw a diagonal line at the back from corner to corner, then get the 2 floral squares, and place the lined navy squares on opposite corners of the large squares as shown in the video. Stitch them along the diagonal, then cut ¼” from the stitching line, and press toward the darker fabric.
Step 3
Cut them in half and set them aside, then stack the 4½” squares with their right sides together, and cut them in half diagonally in both directions. Make another set, then stitch the blocks together as shown in the video, and press it nicely.
Step 4
Make 3 more pieces, then add the strips and small navy print square at the center, and assemble the block units on the empty corners however you want. Stitch everything together and press the seams as you go.
