One of the best things about being a creative DIYer is taking something old and making it into something new with a real purpose.

Perhaps it is no surprise then that some of my favorite pieces of furniture started out as something else. Over the years, I have seen quite a few cool DIY projects where other people converted something old into a new and useful item.

There are many projects to be found, similar to this one, but it doesn’t hurt to share another style or repurpose, now does it?
I found some  solid wood drawers at a yard sale and got them for next to nothing and I felt like I hit the lottery!
They were old, but I knew that some primer, paint and paper could spiff them up nicely. I’m so excited about my new shelving! I just love repurposing old things into things that are useful once again.

This fabulous repurposed drawer project is not only smart, these are charming and useful as well. You can check with Good Will or your local thrift shop. Sometimes those places have dressers that are too broken down to put out so they set them aside for recycling. They just might let you have the drawers…it doesn’t hurt to ask!

Watch how this lady with Saving Your Family Money repurposes these old drawers in her step by step tutorial so you can get busy adding some cool shelving to your home!

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
