Have an empty space in your yard? If you do, I have a great idea for you. Make these DIY string-light planters by Better Homes and Gardens. It is super easy to make! Plus, you don’t need to dig holes in the ground. This project is a beautiful addition to your backyard, especially if you love enjoying the outdoors. Adding this will surely brighten the space and make it more inviting.

This is the perfect way to hang string lights if you don’t have trees or beams around. It helps warm the space and is perfect for a firepit or outdoor seating area where you and your friends or family can gather while having some wine, beer, or steak. If you have a bigger yard, you can definitely make more than three planters so they can occupy and illuminate more space.

Attach corner braces on opposite sides at the end of each posts.
Drill pilot holes on the top ends of posts. Screw hook into the holes.
Place the post inside the planter. Make sure it is centered then screw them on the brace corners to fasten post to the bottom of the planter.
Pour fast-setting concrete mix into the planters and add water according to package instructions. Stir well. It should be several inches below the top of the planter. Allow the concrete to cure.
Once cured, drill drainage holes on the sides of the planters above the concrete line.
Put layers of rocks on top of the concrete for each planter, then top with potting soil. Add plants.
Place them on your backyard in a triangle formation. String the lights through each hook.
