DIY Pompom Flower Mug Rug Tutorial

Materials:
- a piece of cardboard
- circle shape (can be a lid)
- a penny (for the inner circle template)
- a pair of scissors
- marking pen
- knitting yarn (two colors)
- hot glue gun
Directions:
Step 1
TikToker @celynhaf started off the project by making the template of the pom pom. Trace a lid over a piece of cardboard, then trace a penny in the center. After this, draw two lines (like a slice of pizza), then proceed to cut the template out. (The size of the template depends on how big you like your pom poms to be.) Make two of these.
Step 2
Now, grab the color you want for your petals and start wrapping it over the two aligned template. Once done, cut it in half through the gap between the two templates, then grab a piece of the same colored yarn and wrap it around the yarn through the gaps on the template. Tie a knot and remove it from the template. Make a total of five petals and one different-colored pom pom for the flower’s center. Once done, start to assemble the flower mug rug by hot gluing the parts together. Your DIY flower mug rug is now finished!
