I just moved to a new apartment by the Outlet Mall in our little town and the main store at the mall is Pottery Barn, I can spend hours and hours just wondering around the cool merchandise Pottery Barn sells. I want everything in there, but I’m limited to what’s on sale, and when I say sale, I mean the clearance bins at the back of the store, lol. They have a lot of mercury glass that I was surprised to see because I had only ever seen the vintage kind from the 5os, but of course, it’s all super expensive. So bummed out about wanting mercury glass I started to wonder if I could make myself? Then I found this brilliant DIY on Youtube that was the answer to my prayers. I went across the street from my new apartment to Lowes and got my supplies and was ready to get crafting! I first laid out all my materials for this project, first I found these awesome glass globes over at Lowes, they were very stable sitting up and were perfect for my little orb project.

Then I got some special paint called Rustoleum Mirror Effect.

Then I sprayed the bottle with a one to one ratio of water and vinegar and then sprayed the Mirror Effect Rustoleum paint onto the globes with they were still wet. I blotted with a paper towel and that was it!

This was hands down one of the easiest projects I’ve ever done, and the reward was tremendous, they looked fantastic on my patio Lunar Display!
