Easter is my favorite holiday and I love making all kinds of Easter Eggs whether it’s coloring my children’s eggs for our yearly egg hunt or making decorative eggs for our annual decorations so when I saw this I knew I had to make it. These Lace Eggs were so gorgeous I immediately fell in love with them. They are really easy to make you only need some lace, a balloon, and some glue.

Materials:

  • A few pieces of old lace ( old curtains or an old dress, etc… from the thrift store or your closet)
  • Glue
  • A Balloon
  • Matching thread (Matching you lace)
  • A string of LED Lights (battery operated small ones)

Directions:

Blow up your balloon and tie off, then soak your old upcycled lace remnants in glue and start placing then around your balloon tying them off as you go, remember you don’t want the lace to be so wet you can’t manage it, but you don’t want the lace to dry out too much so it becomes stiff and is hard to manage as well, just get it to that semi moist sweet spot and away you go.

Then you gently loosen your dried lace from around the balloon then let the air out of it by cutting the top.

Then you stuff in your battery operated LED light strand and decorate your home. pieces of old, cotton lace (eg curtains) glue PVA balloon white thread led lights

My kids loved this project so much they all made one each for our annual Easter Egg Hunt and we put them around the door to welcome our guests for the big day.
