I love the look of an antique Christmas tree in the old paintings from the early 1900s of candle luminaries all over the tree. I have always wanted to recreate that image although as we all know, it is not safe to use a candle on or around a Christmas Tree. So when I saw this DIY Faux Candle Luminary on Youtube I was so excited, I couldn’t wait to try making some, thank goodness for modern technology! I first went to Dollar Tree to get all the supplies I needed, clear plastic open-faced ornaments, faux battery operated candles, glue, glitter, and Christmas trimmings. I then painted the inside of my DIY Faux Candle Luminary Ornament with glue about one-third of the way up.

Then I glued some small rhinestone ribbon netting around my battery-operated candle and glued a bit more glitter to the top.

Then I just let my imagination run wild at this point, I cut off little bit of Christmas greenery and glued it in making a little snow scene. You can add plastic animals, grass or whatever you want here. Like with all DIY projects, there is no right way to this, there also is no wrong way to do this. This is your ornament and totally left up t your discretion.

Then, in the end, I glued in the faux candle. These DIY Faux Candle Ornament Luminaries looked fabulous on my tree! After all these years I finally got to have a turn of the century vintage Christmas Tre and it was amazing!

I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
