I’ve always loved the industrial look of wood or metal orbs. We have one out on the coffee table that’s made of metal, but it’s not a bookend. But even one picked up at Target can come with a price tag that is a little steep for such a simple piece.

Wooden embroidery hoops on the other hand are rather inexpensive. These embroidery hoop orbs are quite easy to make. I know some of you are hand embroiderers like I am, so this would be a fun addition to a craft room or for any crafters home decor.

This looks really cool on a bookshelf for a great bookend! It’s a great look for modern decor and minimalists, although it would look awesome in any decor.

If you’re trying to think of a great housewarming gift, this couldn’t be a more unique gift, and I’m sure that it will certainly surprise your recipient! I know that I would be really excited about receiving a gift like this one!

Materials:

  • 2 wood embroidery hoops (my local craft store had them from just over a dollar)
  • spray paint of choice
  • wood block and wood stain of choice

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
