Here’s an idea that might help keep the house a little cleaner, and it does not cost much to make or take too much time, it’s a DIY boot brush made from cement and some handheld brushes. The brushes can be picked up at the dollar store, too, so this project should be inexpensive.

Every time my husband gets home from work or my kids come inside from playing in the yard I get mud and loose dirt tracks all over my clean floor. It’s so annoying, but thanks to this wonderful video I found on Youtube I have nipped that problem in a bud by making this DIY Boot Brush Mat! It was so cheap and easy as well and only took a few easy to follow steps. I started by gathering my materials together:

Materials:

• One Aluminum Turkey Tray (from the grocery store)
• 2 Long Hand Held Brushes
• One Plastic Tray (larger than the aluminum one)
• Some Quick Dry Cement
• Some Cement Sealer

Directions:

First set your aluminum turkey baking tray inside the plastic tray, then add some cement, then place your short bristle brushes in them (bristle side up) and fill with remaining cement.

Then let dry (cure) overnight, then peel back and remove the aluminum tray.

Then just brush some sealer over your concrete.

This DIY Boot Brush Mat has been a Godsend to our family floors and it’s so convenient and such a cute idea everyone adores it and loves using it! There are no more excuses, like, Mom, I forgot, with a track of mayhem following their sweet little footsteps. Everyone is more than happy to do a little dance on the DIY Cement Brush Boot Mat before they enter the house and I’ve even caught the youngest slipping and flipping on it while listening to his headphones, who knew that no-nonsense cleanliness could be such fun!
