A doily lamp throws the prettiest lace shadows across a room. Blow up a punching bag balloon from the dollar store, since it is round and sturdier than a regular balloon. Lay doilies over it and paint them with watered down Elmer’s school glue until fully soaked. Let it dry about 24 hours, touch up any soft spots with more glue, then dry another day. Pop the balloon, leaving an opening between a couple of doilies, and hang the shade from an Ikea lighting cord kit.
