Scrubs are one my favorite skincare routines. They remove dead skin cells and make my skin feel so soft. I usually use them once a week, but it really depends on your skin type. Keep in mind that it daily use is not recommended, as it can dry or irritate your skin. If you already have dry or sensitive skin, scrubs may not be the best option. I suggest doing a thorough research or consulting your doctor first before trying any scrub, natural or not.
What I love most about homemade scrubs is knowing exactly what goes on my skin. If you’re sensitive to certain ingredients, you can easily leave them out or replace them for an ingredient that works better for you.
This sugar scrub makes a wonderful handmade gift for friends and family. It’s perfect for holidays, birthdays, or special occassions. Just be sure they’re not allergic or sensitive to the ingredients.

Essential Oil VS Carrier Oil
Not a big fan of blueberry? Not a problem! You can swap the blueberry oil and mica powder for your favorite essential oil and color. For this scrub, I chose to use a carrier oil instead of an essential oil.
You might be wondering what the difference is between the two. Essential oils are highly concentrated, which means they shouldn’t be applied directly to the skin without diluting, as they can cause irritations or even burns. Carrier oils, on the other hand, are mild and safe to use directly on skin. You can use either one in your scrub, just remember never to apply essential oils directly to your skin for safety.
