Fabric Requirements:

  • 1 pack or (24) 10″ print squares
  • 1 pack or (24) 10″ background squares
  • 1/2 yard binding
  • 2 7/8 – 3 1/4 yards backing

Directions:

Step 1

Take one piece of colored and background squares and stack them together over a rotating table. Lay your 2 1/2″ x 15″ ruler and cut the squares diagonally. Then, turn the rotating table and cut on the other side. Take your ruler and move to the other side, then repeat. You’ll end up with four pieces. Now, take out the two triangles, then lay the ruler along the cut edge of one of the pieces, then cut. Repeat it on the other side and do the same steps with the other piece. Put these pieces in piles along with the triangles earlier. Repeat these steps with the lighter squares.

Step 2

Now, take two dark triangles, two dark diamonds, and four light diamonds. Lay them up according to the image below. After this, sew the middle rows first, then sew them together. Lastly, attach the outer triangles to complete the block. Once done, square it up to 8 1/2″. Make four of these blocks.

Step 3

Repeat all the steps above, changing the dark fabrics into lighter ones and the light to darker ones, to make the light blocks. You’ll need four of these blocks. To make the quilt top, you’ll need 12 blocks, laying three blocks across, and four blocks down.
