Jenny Doan All Star Quilt Block
Jenny Doan is one of my very favorite quilters on Youtube, her patterns and teaching methods are so simple and down to Earth everyone can easily follow along. This video is the first in Jenny’s series Missouri Star All Stars Block Of The Month, where each month you will receive a kit and instruction manual to make the new monthly quilt block. This fabulous package includes many tips for beginners, such as pinning, pressing, trimming, consistency, and seam ripper tips. The instructions Jenny gives in her video will guide you step by step through measuring your fabric squares and cutting them precisely to make sewing and assembly as easy as possible. There are tips to help you color code and trim the blocks so they will fit evenly into this fabulous quilt that is also called The Kansas City Star, which is a name that I love because it reminds me of the old days of Rock and Roll the Fifties where Kansas City was the hot spot for many entertainers. However, you slice it this All-Star Quilt pattern is pure Americana, just like Jenny Doan herself, what an American sweetheart!
Materials:
- A Sewing Machine
- Thread
- Scissors
- A Ruler
- A Rotary Cutter
- Jenny Doan’s Quilting Kit (or other fabric)
Directions:
In the video, you will be guided through all the steps to cut out your pieces to make the iconic Kansas City Star Block.
You will also learn to sew the binding on these Kansas City Star Blocks and piece them together.
