Dump cakes are easy, simple, and delicious to make. It’s a quick dessert to make if you’re looking for something sweet to devour. In The Kitchen With Gina Young tutorial is so sweet and she takes her time. I love the recommendations she gives and tips when she’s teaching how to make this caramel apple dump cake. She said “I didn’t come today to make a salad,  I came to make dessert,” and honestly that is what made me fall in love with Gina. She is hilarious and so right about making things tasting good knowing it’s not going to be healthy. This is a sweet cake, but if you want to make it less sweet just take out the caramel. Dump cakes are so time convenient, and there are a lot of different fillings and kinds to make. I’ve never had dump cake ever, but I need to try it now after seeing this recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans apple pie filling
  • caramel
  • yellow cake mix
  • 2 butter sticks
  • vanilla ice cream, optional

Directions:

First, grease your pan and pour in the 2 cans of apple filling in the dish. Sprinkle cinnamon on top of the apples and mix in the caramel. Then, pour in the dry cake mix on top.

Next, slice your butter sticks into slices and put a pad of butter all across the dry mix. This will create a moist, buttery crust on top of the caramel apple dump cake.

In my opinion, the cake is always perfect with vanilla ice cream when you get the two together in one bite. The amount of butter she put on top of the cake makes a tremendous difference and adds a nice crisp.
