This is a very easy way to make a quilt that looks really complicated. It’s such a fascinating design and quite different from most of the quilt designs I’ve seen.

Weave these soft colors together into a stunning yet simple quilt. The design is quite easy to stitch together. Get creative and choose a beautiful combination of fabrics that you love and you’ll have a stunning quilt once it’s done.

She cuts a whole block from each fabric and rearranges them and puts them together. She cuts 2-1/2″squares, 4-1/2″, 6-1/2″ and 8-1/2″ strips from each one of her strips of fabric. You will also be cutting 2-1/2″ squares from the solid (or creme colorO. The instructions will tell you how many of each that you need. She said “it’s kind of easy because everything is in increments.” Watch this tutorial to see how she puts these together into the beautiful Cabin Rose Quilt.
The design looks amazing on a bed.  Right now I’m playing with a woven throw for the family room using some traditional large scale leafy prints I’ve hoarded. So many ideas. So much fabric. So little time. Can you relate?
In this tutorial, the Fons & Porter staff show you how to make the Cabin Rose quilt in their step by step tutorial. Cabin Rose can be found in Fons & Porter’s Quilting Quickly Summer ’14, and you can find the digital pattern at http://www.shopFonsandPorter.com.
