To make glazed carrots, you only need carrots, water, salted butter, brown sugar, salt and pepper. Most of these ingredients are probably already in your pantry. It will only take less than 30 minutes to make. You can serve it with meatloaf, turkey, crispy chicken wings, green beans, pan-fried fish, stuffed bell peppers, or ham.

  • 2 lb carrots (skin peeled and cut into 1/2 x 3 inch sticks)
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 5 tablespoons of salted butter
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar (firmly packed)
  • salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Glazed Carrots

Step 1:

Start by adding the carrot sticks into the saucepan followed by 1/2 cup of water. Place over medium-high heat. Let it come to a simmer, then place the lid to cover and cook for about 3 minutes.

Step 2:

After 3 minutes, remove the lid and cook uncovered for about 3 to 4 minutes or until almost dry.

Step 3:

Add 5 tablespoons of salted butter, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, and 1/4 cup of honey. Stir well until the carrots are coated. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes more while continuously stirring.
