  • 1 roll of 2 1/2″ background strips (includes inner border)
  • 1 1/4 yards of outer border
  • 3/4 yard of binding
  • 4 1/2″ yards of backing

How to Make Brick Yard Quilt

Step 1:

Take three strips (2 dark and 1 background) and sew them together with the background in the middle. Press to the dark side. Repeat with the other strips.

Step 2:

Take two strip sets and place them right sides together. Sew a 1/4″ seam allowance on the top and bottom.

Step 3:

Take a ruler that has a 45 angle. Place the line of the ruler right on the stitch line. Cut using a rotary cutter. Slide the ruler up, put the 45 line on the stitch line on top, and cut again. Repeat for the whole tube. Each should be an 8 1/2″ square.
