Materials:

  • large bowl
  • a big and sharp knife
  • large cutting board

Instructions:

Step 1:

Thoroughly wash the skin of the watermelon to remove any dirt.

Step 2:

Place your watermelon on your cutting board horizontally. The first thing you need to do is to cut the ends off. Try not to take too much of the meat out.

Step 3:

Cut it in half. If you are using a small knife, rotate it around after every cut.

Step 4:

Get a half, and flip it over onto the large side. Trim the skin off by following the curvature of the watermelon. Rotate it around after each slice to make it easier for you. Try your best not to take too much of the meat off. If there are any white parts left, just trim them off.

Step 5:

Section your watermelon by cutting it into 3/4-inch slices. Make sure to cut all the way through. Once done, rotate it 90 degrees and do the same. Try to keep it all together as much as you can.
