Homemade lip balm is a great gift idea to make for family and friends. This DIY 5-minute lip balm recipe by WhatsUpMoms on YouTube shows how to customize the scent and color of your own lip balm. I love how you customize the plastic pot with stickers. I’d love to try these out because the cost of chapstick can add up and especially how often I lose or misplace them. The use of eos lip balm containers would be a convenient way to recreate your own without having to spend more money on another one. They look so easy and simple to make. I’m impressed by the process and I can’t wait to make these at home.

Supplies:

  • 4 tbsp Beeswax
  • 4 tbsp Coconut Oil
  • 1 tsp Vitamin E Oil (optional)
  • 6-8 drops Peppermint (or a flavor oil) for scent
  • Lipstick or Crayons for color
  • Plastic pots or old lip balm containers

Directions:

First, mix your wax and coconut oil. Grate the beeswax so it is easier to measure. You can use less wax for a glossier texture. Microwave the 2 in a microwave-safe bowl for 1 minute or until it’s fully mixed but not boiling. Add in old lipstick, vitamin E, and peppermint oil. These ingredients are optional. Overall, it’s a great way to recycle your empty containers and make them to any color tint you may prefer. They are easy to make a big batch for party favors at an inexpensive price. I have a bunch of lipsticks that I don’t use because they are similar colors. So, it would be a nice idea to turn them into a moisturizing lip tint.
