DIY Macrame Pods

Macrame crafts can get tricky, but Soulful Notions macrame pods tutorial on YouTube shows step by step that is clear and detailed. These beautiful, versatile pods are so boho and I love that style. These macrame pods can be pricey at stores, so I would love to learn how to make this on my own with this tutorial. However, this is an intermediate tutorial, so, if you don’t know the basics of square knots or alternating square knots, this might be difficult. Learn the basic beginner knots before attempting this project out. I don’t have the basics down yet, so I do need to practice before trying this. It is hard to keep up, but it’s so relaxing to watch this project come together.

Materials:

• 5mm single-ply cord w/ measurements listed in the video’s description box
• tape
• any type of board to lay the macrame on
• pins

Directions:

First, take your four pieces of the 7ft ropes and tape the far end to the board. You’ll want to work your way down with square knots to make the loop part on the top of the basket.

Next, continue to watch Soulful Notions for the rest of the tutorial. She makes 8 floating square knots and adds them to the side while pinning them on the sides to make square knots and attach the two together.

In conclusion, I will attempt to try this macrame pod in the future. I’ve been wanting to buy them whenever I go to plant stores, but they are expensive or either sold out. Even though this is an intermediate tutorial, I was able to follow along with it because the instructions were clear and precise. This project does take some time, so make sure you dedicate your time if you’re trying this out.
