While watching tons of sewing video tutorials, I noticed all the awesome YouTubers wear these pincushion bracelets. I haven’t seen these for sale anywhere, so I started searching the internet to find a DIY version of these useful bracelets. I found this wonderful pincushion bracelet video tutorial by Natalie’s Creations on YouTube, and I really wanted to make a few of these to give to my friends at Christmas. Remember, as with all DIY, there is no right or wrong way to do a project, so if you want to cover the whole lid with fabric and even more padding, by all means, go for it!

Materials For Pincushion Bracelet:

  • A small lid (a Smucker’s jelly lid or olives lid will work well)
  • An elastic hair tie
  • A  (12″ x 12″) piece of felt
  • Some cotton or dacron stuffing
  • Thread
  • A pair of scissors
  • A hot glue gun
  • Glue sticks

Directions:

In this wonderful pincushion bracelet video tutorial by Natalie’s Creations on YouTube, you will learn how to make this bracelet in a step by step method. You start this project by gluing your elastic to the back of the jelly top, then securing it with a small piece of felt glued over that, for extra strength.

Then, you will make the pincushion portion of the project and glue it to the inside of the jar lid. After that, the pincushion will be ready to wear and it looks amazing.
