Macrame wall hangings are one of my favorite vintage items from the Seventies. Macrame looks so amazing in the home and has that miraculous ability to bring together mismatched furniture ideas and immediately brand it Bohemian. I was looking to accessorize my screened-in porch, and there was a lot of mismatched furniture in the space so I immediately decided it was time to introduce some macrame and tie the space together. I went searching on youtube for a macrame project and I found this excellent tutorial by Mary Maker Studio that looked super easy, and really suited the decor idea I had in mind. This particular video tutorial is one of the easiest and the most simple to understand, that I have found on Youtube, and it looks fantastic. I immediately went to JoAnn’s Fabrics to get my supplies for this project. I also made sure to check my JoAnn’s app before I left to get my coupons in order before I got there because those coupons will save you a lot of money. If you are not taking advantage of the online coupons at all the big craft stores, you need to start, because more is more in the craft world, lol.

Materials:

• 5 different colors of yarn (the chunky style is best)
• Scissors
• A stick (to tie the yarn on)

Directions:

First, you will tie the yarn to the pole or stick of your choice, then follow the very simple tutorial instructions that show you how to lace, gather, and intertwine all the yarn strings to make this continuous macrame wall hanging.

Then, you continue this pattern to make this work of art as long as you need it to be for your desired space.

This wall hanging is beautiful and will accent any room, no matter what kind of decor you have.
