Looking for a unique dessert like no other? These deep-fried coke balls are a perfect treat and are super easy to make at home. Only using 4 simple ingredients and taking about 15 minutes to make, you can soon be enjoying deep-fried coke like they serve at the State Fair, but in the comfort of your own home.
I remember when I was younger, my family would always take an annual trip to the Texas State Fair for as long as I could remember. We would spend the day playing games, riding rollercoasters, watching live entertainment, and eating all sorts of food that I could never possibly think of consuming at home. The one thing I always was excited about was the wide variety of deep-fried treats, especially my favorite, the deep-fried coke. The smell of the deep-fried warm batter, wafting through the fair, still lingers in my nose from a memory of a treat that I never thought I would eat again. When I recently found this recipe of my favorite childhood treat, I immediately rushed to the store and gathered my ingredients:
Beat two eggs in a large bowl using a fork or a whisk.
Mix in the coke and sugar, after that mix in the flour while stirring the batter.
Heat oil in a large pot over the stove and put dollops of the batter into the oil. Cook for 1-2 minutes or until golden brown.
Your fried coke is now ready to serve. Add some whipped cream to these little nuggets of fried Coca Cola, or even maraschino cherries if you like. Watch the video below for a full how to.
This recipe is a personal favorite of mine as I remember it fondly from when I was young. It’s sweet doughy consistency goes great with powdered sugar on top but also can be enjoyed by themself.
