I thought I would share this awesome quilt with you, since the fall is upon us and the weather’s starting to cool down, making it quilt season! Nothing’s better than opening the windows at night and covering up with a quilt or two.
Speaking of quilts, this quilt is particularly special because of the way this lady cuts 2.5″ strips to make butterflies, which we all love and adore.
She uses batik jelly rolls to make this quilt, but you can make your butterflies in any color or design your heart desires. This quilt looks especially lovely when she gets through quilting it. I fell in love with it the minute I saw it!
And, if you have a really special person you need a house warming or wedding gift for, this would certainly make a huge impression on them to receive such an incredible quilt.
My inspiration to do this quilt all started with a stack of fabrics in a variety of prints in navy, wintergreen, fuschia, mustard and grey. I loved this collection of colors and I thought it would be fun to set them against an off-white solid for a bold quilt with a lot of contrast. I absolutely love the way it turned out. It is so stunning!
