I made three of these zipper pouches on my first attempt. I searched the Internet for zippered pouch tutorials and found this tutorial by Melly Sews to be particularly easy to follow and had success making these pouches without difficulty. I’m so proud of myself! Zippers always intimidated me so I wouldn’t attempt it. Like everything else I’m afraid of, if I just do it, I find that it wasn’t that difficult after all!
I picked up some colorful zippers in a spur of the moment decision to finally overcome my fear of sewing with zippers as well as to make a few stocking fillers for Christmas. Pre-teen girls love these. My granddaughter gets a new zippered pouch, filled with makeup samples, from Ipsy every month and she absolutely loves them and looks forward to getting that shiny magenta mailer in the mail every month.
With all of the fabulously wonderful fabrics on the market today, I went crazy making these! All of my nieces, sister-in-law, friends and Mom are getting a colorful zippered pouch with their Christmas gifts this year!
These are not only great for holding lipsticks and makeup, but they’re awesome for ink pens and loose papers that end up at the bottom of your purse all the time. I have found that I’ve gotten more organized with them and carry 3 of them in my purse!
