I’m pretty certain it’s hard to miss the fact that pouf ottomans are everywhere right now. The problem is the price. These babies are expensive! I refuse to pay a high price for something that I can make myself.

What a great and fashionable extra seating option, I thought. I don’t know how it is at your house, but when we get the whole family together, it always seems like we are running out of seating.  Someone inevitably ends up sitting on the floor, or we end up redecorating by pulling chairs in from every room in the house.  Family get togethers don’t happen all that often, but I thought that next go around I’d make it easy on myself and get some floor poufs.  They are light, easy to move around and “totally in” right now.
If money were no option, I probably would have just bought them directly from West Elm.  But, since I do not have that luxury, I had to do the next best thing…make knock offs!
Forget the ottoman, what’s hot in style right now are poufs! Easy to put your feet up on, great as spare seating and frankly, they just look cool… DIY poufs are projects that can add double duty decor to your room, with a good dose of on trend design. So these do it yourself poufs are just the solution. One tip we picked up? Use a firm filler, or your pouf will get dowdy real quick. You don’t want a bean bag! This project took no time at all, and I’m so happy with the end product!
Watch how Jakob Morr does this in his step by step tutorial so you’ll have extra seating over the up coming holidays!

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
