Easy DIY Winter Wonder Lantern

Christmas is my favorite holiday and I love everything about it, from putting up the tree to preparing all the gifts. I also prefer decor and handmade gifts because I feel like they are more sincere that way and I appreciate the effort put into the project.

I recently discovered this DIY project idea by Hallmark Channel on YouTube and I immediately fell in love with it. It was so adorable and easy to make, but most of all, it looked so magical once it was hung on the tree!
Materials for Winter Wonder Lantern:
- Lantern
- Keepsake ornaments
- LED battery-powdered light string
- Bottle brush trees
- Snow batting
- Plastic faux snow
- Sheet styrofoam
- Chunky white glitter
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Green floral wire
- Wire cutters
- Scissors
- Long nose pliers or tweezers
- Popsicle stick
How to Make Winter Wonder Lantern:
Step 1
Prepare all of the materials you’ll need, then cut the styrofoam to fit on top of the battery pack, and glue it into place. Cut a piece of snow batting, then place the lantern on top, and cut around the base.
Step 2
Place the cut snow batting into the lantern and hot glue it in place, then use the popsicle stick to tuck the batting around the styrofoam.
Step 3
Pick which bottle brush trees you want to use and plan your scene, then put some ornaments around, and secure them with hot glue.
Step 4
Sprinkle the scene with faux snow and glitter, then hang your lantern on your tree and wrap your string lights around it. Turn on the lights and enjoy the magical lantern you’ve created!
