#1: Vanilla Extract

Vanilla extract is primarily used for baking and has a delicious-smelling scent. So, if you want to make your home constantly smell like freshly baked cookies, simply put an oven-safe dish with 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract in your oven.

#2: Essential Oils

Essential oils are the obvious choice to make your house smell expensive or like a hotel, but if you don’t have a diffuser or humidifier, then apply them in cotton balls, and put them inside your vacuum. Now, your home will smell amazing as you vacuum and clean.

#3: Essential Oils (another use)

If your garbage can starts smelling or emitting a bad odor, then neutralize it by placing a cotton ball doused with essential oil underneath the bin liner. Do this every time you change your bin liner or as needed.

#4: Baking Soda

Your dishwasher can also be a source of bad odor when not cleaned or dried properly. To get rid of the musty odor, run about a cup of baking soda in it, and it will help neutralize the bad smell.

#5: Shaving Cream

Shaving cream contains alcohol and has anti-bacterial properties which are effective in getting rid of bacteria-causing odors. The next time you clean your bathroom, make sure to mop the floors with shaving cream and let it air dry.
