However, window blinds could get very expensive depending on the material or design, and if you still don’t have a budget for this and need a quick solution, then try making a DIY version using only a roll of wallpaper!

Step 1

Measure 210cm or about 83 inches from each edge of the roll, then draw a line and cut the wallpaper along that line. Measure 3cm or 1 inch from the edges of one end, then draw a line and fold the wallpaper along it. Measure another 3cm or 1 inch, then fold the wallpaper in the opposite direction, and continue folding until you reach the end as demonstrated in the video.

Step 2

Place the pleated roll horizontally on the table, then measure 10cm or about 4 inches from each end, and drill to make a hole using a thin drill bit. Thread a string through both holes, then attach a cord lock on each end of the string, and tie a loop so the string doesn’t slip out to the hotel on the other end. Tape the end of the string on the non-pattern side of the wallpaper using adhesive tape, then repeat the steps for the second hole.

Step 3

For the holes on the opposite end, stick a piece of double-sided tape on the backside of the edge where the end of the string is, then remove the backing of the tape, and attach the blinds to the top frame of your window. Press the top of the blinds firmly to the top frame, then leave it for a few minutes to make sure that the tape is completely adhered, and test out your new blinds.
