The steps to making this quilt block are also very easy to follow which makes it perfect for beginners or newbies in quilting. I’m sure that this quilt block will be one of your favorites to make, so learn how now by reading the instructions down below, and make sure to watch the video tutorial as well for more details.
Step 1
Cut 1 rectangle at 3.5″ x 6.5″ in print, then 2 squares at 3.5″ x 3.5″ and 1 square at 3⅞” in cream, and 1 square at 3⅞” in print. Draw a diagonal line on the back of the 3⅞” square in cream, then repeat the same with one of the 3.5″ squares, and place the cream square on top of the rectangle making sure their right sides are facing and edges are lined up.
Step 2
Pin them in place, then stitch them together along the line, and cut ¼” away from the stitching line. Press the seams nicely, then stack both 3⅞” squares together with their right sides facing, and stitch on either side of the line with ¼” seam allowance. Cut them apart along the line, then press the seams, and take 1 half-square triangle setting the other aside (you only need 1 half-square triangle per block).
Step 3
As demonstrated in the video, assemble the half-square triangle, rectangle unit, and 1 cream or background square together, then stitch them, and press as you go. Make more blocks, assemble them however you want, and finish your quilt as desired.
