#1: Rubbing Off Stains on The Surface
The main mistake that people are making when trying to get rid of stains is to run the stain on the surface and not pre-treat it first. What you’re supposed to do is blot the stain first to remove as much as you can from the surface, then keep blotting until you can’t anymore and you’ve soaked up all the liquid. Next, add the stain remover, then agitate the stain by rubbing it with your finger or a toothbrush, and either let the product sit or rinse it immediately and launder it as you usually would.
#2: Mixing Multiple Cleaning Products
Most people try to mix too many cleaning products together to try and make something more potent and effective. But, it’s important to keep in mind that cleaning products are designed to tackle a specific job and when you try to fiddle with solutions, sometimes, they result in nothing and can sometimes neutralize the product instead of making it work. Worst, you might create a harmful chemical reaction.
#3: Not Letting the Cleaning Solution Sit
When using cleaning products, make sure to douse the surface first and let it sit as sometimes cleaning products need time to work. It also helps to mist and moisten it with some water because there are products that need a boost or to be diluted. But, some surfaces cannot tolerate liquid, in this case, you should douse a cloth instead before wiping it onto the surface as opposed to spraying it directly.
#4: Dirty Cleaning
What most hacks or video tutorials might not tell you when cleaning is that you need multiple mop heads that are individually assigned to specific areas and not use just one for all. This could cause cross-contamination because the dirt that you accumulate when you clean the kitchen can transfer when you use the same mop in the bathroom or other areas of your house. So make sure to use multiple mops/mopheads, microfiber cloths, and other cleaning supplies, it’s also important to clean your tools thoroughly and let them dry completely.
