Yes, you can use a toothpaste to remove those shallow scratches from glass but take note that this might not work for deep scratches.

Note: this trick will only work with shallow scratches and will not work on deep scratches
Start by cleaning the glass with a glass cleaner, then wipe it dry with a lint-free cloth.
Grab a dry cloth and non-gel toothpaste. Add a dollop of the toothpaste onto the cloth. Rub the toothpaste into the scratches on the glass in a circular motion for about 30 to 40 seconds.
Get a clean damp cloth and wipe the toothpaste off.
Repeat the steps until all scratches are gone.
