If you’re looking for your next quilt project, I recommend this quilted table runner from Moonkin Stitchery on YouTube. This table runner is a very quick and easy project you can make with just one charm pack. That’s right, you may also use your scraps so long as they’re 5” in size.

It’s a beginner-friendly project, but seasoned quilters may also enjoy this, especially if you’re looking for a quilt to pass the time. This quilt is also a table runner, so you can make this to take a break from making lap and throw quilts. Learn how to make this by watching the video below for the step by step process, or continue reading below to read the complete written instructions.
Separate your charm pack (5″ squares) into two piles of 20 pieces. Trim down one pile to 4 1/2″ squares, then subcut the remaining pile into 2 1/2″ squares. Once you have everything, select four 2 1/2″ squares in mixed prints and sew them together to form a 2 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ rectangle. Repeat these steps until you have a total of twenty 2 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ rectangles.
Next, take two 4 1/2″ squares and place them in the middle of two 2 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ rectangles. Sew them together to create your quilt block. After this, sew the 4 1/2″ squares together to form a row, then sew all the rows together to complete an 8 1/2″ square quilt block. Continue with these steps until you have a total of ten quilt blocks.
Once you have all the blocks, lay them side by side in a 2 x 5 layout. Sew the blocks together to form rows, then sew those rows together to complete the table runner.
