A few weeks ago, while scrolling through the internet to find a new project to try, I found this video tutorial by ehow on YouTube. It’s a simple but super interesting DIY pillowcase that requires no sewing at all and can be finished within just a few minutes. You just have to make a few cuts on the fleece fabric and start braiding, that easy!

This idea is perfect for those who don’t know how to sew, those who don’t have the right supplies, or those who simply don’t feel like sewing at all. This is also a great gift idea for a loved one, plus, it’s budget-friendly, and you can customize it however you want by using a color combination of your choice and adding some embellishments as well.
Step 1
Cut the fleece fabric into 18-inch squares, then lay them together with their wrong sides facing and their edges lined up nicely. Get your sharp scissors, then cut out a 2-inch square on each corner, then cut through both layers of fleece into 1×2-inch strips as shown in the video, and do this on all four sides.
Step 2
Next, fold over a strip, then cut a small hole in the center, and repeat the same for the rest of the strips. Take the top layer of fleece off, then put the pillow on top of the bottom layer of fleece making sure it’s positioned in the middle, and lay the top layer of fleece on the pillow.
Step 3
Now, start threading in the center of one of the sides, then push the top strip through the hole of the bottom strip, and push the bottom strip through the top strip. Do this to the rest of the strips around the pillow until you reach the end, then once at the last strip, cut it through in half lengthwise, and tie it to the strip in a secure knot.
