Cooking for a crowd, big party, or special event is a lot of pressure because you want to impress the people who will eat the food. To do that successfully, you have to know the right recipe or technique in cooking the dish that you’ve chosen, and for a holiday event, my go-to dish is a juicy and tender prime rib roast. It’s a dish that never fails to amaze the guests and always leaves them wanting more.

Regarding the recipe, I only follow this one by Camirra’s Kitchen on YouTube because it’s fail-proof, very easy to follow, and guaranteed delicious every time. What’s even better about this recipe is that it also comes with a tutorial on how to make a gravy that you can pair with using the rendered juice of the rib. That gravy is full of flavor and deliciousness that came from the meat.
Step 1
Score and prepare the prime rib as shown in the video then put it on a deep baking sheet, and rub it with Maggi seasoning until well coated. Add a splash of Worcestershire sauce, then sprinkle the seasonings, and rub them in making sure that all sides are covered.
Step 2
Mix the butter, rosemary, thyme, garlic, and Dijon mustard in a separate bowl, then pour in some red wine and continue to mix until well combined. Rub the butter mixture all over the rib until completely coated, then spread the chopped onions to the bottom of a roasting pan evenly, and put in the sprigs of thyme and rosemary.

Step 3
Pour in the remaining red wine followed by the broth, then place the rack on top, and put the seasoned rib over it. Place it in the oven, then roast it according to the temperature guide in the video.
Step 4
Once done cooking, strain the rendered juice over a saucepan, then add some slurry (cornstarch and water mixture), and heat it while stirring consistently until thickened. Serve the rib along with the prepared gravy and enjoy!
