I love making handmade projects that I can use to decorate my house, and recently, I’ve been feeling like my yard and garden are missing a walkway or stepping stone. I saw this as an opportunity for another fun DIY project that I could work on for the week, and out of all the designs and inspirations online, this one by Hometalk on TikTok is the project I loved the most because the steps are simple and easy to follow. What’s even better is that you can use your old and broken plates or glasses for this.
Step 1
Break the plates, then mix equal parts of cement, sand, and water, and then make a round mold out of cardboard. Line a flat surface with plastic and newspaper, then place the cardboard mold on top and fill the bottom with the cement mixture spreading it evenly.

Step 2
Wet it with a moist sponge, then lay small pieces of wire screen, then pour a mixture of cement and water on top, and spread it evenly. Place the broken plate pieces all over the top, then press it down until they are submerged and level with the cement.
Step 3
Dab the wet sponge all over the top as shown in the video, then leave it to dry completely, and remove the cardboard mold as well as the lining at the bottom. Place the stepping stone in your yard or garden!
