What Quirky Thing Is He Making With This Lady’s Leg?

Vintage and retro things are the “in” thing with a lot of people and this is the Mac Daddy of all things retro!  Sometimes the tackier the better! Just like the post I recently did with the doll’s head night light.  Off the wall, eye catching, unusual things that you wouldn’t normally see in someone’s home is such a shocker to some people when they first see it, but they really love the uniqueness of something so wild and crazy!  They secretly want to do the same thing in their home!

Kitschy Living’s blog says:  If it’s tacky, ugly, campy, cutesy, quirky or wonderful, you’ll find it here.   What is Kitsch? Kitsch is pleasingly distasteful. It’s melodramatic, overdone, gaudy and tacky or sentimental and folksy. It’s so bad that it’s cool. Kitsch is either cutesy fun or hideous ugliness, depending on the viewer’s opinion.

When I made one of these I went on Craigslist to look for mannequin parts.  It took me a minute to find a leg, but I finally did!  It’s worth the search…trust me on this one!  I painted a lamp shade red and used black fringe on mine.  I think it’s out of this world! When I first saw this on A Christmas Story, many years a go, I vowed to have one of these at some point in my life!
