If you’re looking for an inexpensive project idea that you can make for your Christmas decor, then this tutorial by Ey to Zee Creative on YouTube is perfect for you! These beautiful star ornaments would look lovely on your Christmas tree or you can just hang them anywhere you want. You only need a few simple materials to make a star ornament and it will be finished in just a few minutes.

Materials:

  • Saran or cling wrap
  • Corkboard
  • Pins
  • Glue
  • Jute twine, string, or yarn
  • Star template

Directions:

Step 1

The first thing that you have to do is to print out the star template, then cut it out, and place it on top of the corkboard before wrapping it with saran or cling wrap. Insert the pin into the 5 points of the star, then wrap the string around the pins to make the frame of the star, and set it aside. In a bowl or container, add 4 parts of glue to 1 part of water, and then mix them together until well combined and uniform. Measure about 2 meters or approximately 78 inches of twine or string, then cut it out, you can make a longer piece depending on how big your star template is, and then soak the twine or string into the glue mixture.

Step 2

Hold one end of the string, then pinch it all the way down to squeeze out the excess glue from the twine or string, and then start wrapping it around the pins following the star template. Leave it to dry completely until solid, then add another layer of string around it, and set it aside. Cut some string, then soak it in the glue mixture, squeeze out the excess, and wrap it around the star frame however you want. You can add more layers as desired, then once done, let it dry completely, and add some glitters.
