Materials:

  • Repair kit

Directions:

Step 1

First off, clean the chipped area of the windshield with a microfiber towel and alcohol, make sure not to spray or pour the alcohol directly, pour it in the towel instead, then wipe it well, or use a glass cleaner. Now, unpack the repair kit, then cover the back of the crack or the other side of the windshield with cardboard, and place black tape around the chipped area as shown in the video. Take a safety pin, then start gently scraping the chip to make sure that there is no glass left in the area, and get the seal. Peel off one side of the seal, then with its tab facing up lay it down to the chipped area making sure that the crack is in the center of the hole, and peel off to expose the sticky side. Next, line up the pedestal to the tab and press it down nicely, then put 3 quarters of the resin into the chip, and insert the syringe all the way.

Step 2

Pull the plunger up, then lock it in to create a vacuum effect, and let it suck all of the air out. Let it sit for about 10 minutes or according to package instructions, and tap the windshield a few times to help air bubbles escape. After 10 minutes, hold the pedestal as you pull the syringe out, then put it back in, move the clip or lock, and push the plunger down by half. Let it sit for about 20 minutes, then pull the syringe out, and use a safety razor to peel the tab up carefully. Wipe any resin leak that would escape with a paper towel, then add a drop of extra resin on top of the crack, and place the yellow glass object on top of the crack pressing it down nicely with a flat razor edge. Let it sit in the sunlight for about 15 minutes, then pull it off gently with a razor edge, and scrape off the excess resin carefully making sure not to scrape the glass. Lastly, pull off all the tape around the chipped area and you’re all done!
