Easy DIY Hula Hoop Shelf Tutorial

Materials:

• 2 standard hula hoops
• 2 planks of wood (height and length are up to you)
• screws
• spray paint (desired color)
• wood stain (optional)

Directions:

Step 1

To start, spray paint your hoops to your desired color and wait for them to completely dry. Once dry, flip the hoops over and paint again. Let it dry also. Now, moving to the planks, if you’re not satisfied with their color, go ahead and stain them to make them darker. On one plank, measure where you want the hoop to be attached and drill your holes. Do this for both sides of that particular plank.

Step 2

Next, place your hoop on the top to see where you would want the hoop to be attached to the wood. Whenever you’re ready, drill holes into the hoop on both sides. Align the plank and screw it into place. Now, using the same hoop, make holes for the second plank of wood which will be a little bit lower than where you’ve already attached the top plank. (Drill holes through the hoop into the wood so you know where to mark the position of the screws.) Drill holes into the marked area and once that’s done, screw it all into place. After this, flip over, get the second hoop, place it on top, and makes holes to match the holes you’ve drilled previously into the first plank. Once aligned, you can begin to screw. Do the same step just on the second plank, make the holes into the hoop, align with the second plank, then screw.
