DIY Mosaic Tray From Paper Napkins

Here’s a beautiful DIY mosaic tray from paper napkins that you can add to your craft project list. This lovely idea is made by Irene – My DIY life diaries on Youtube. It is not waterproof but it is water resistant. It’s super easy and fun to make. Add this to your living room or bedroom for a wonderful decor piece. You can place books or vases on top. Materials:

• napkin with pattern
• white cardboard sheets
• pair of scissors
• sheet protector
• water
• white glue or mod podge
• paint brush
• dollar tree tray
• hot glue
• grout
• tissue
• bash paint

Instructions:

Step 1:

Separate the 2 layers of the napkins. Cut the napkin into 5 pieces.

Step 2:

Get the sheet protector and put drops of water. Place 1 piece of the napkin layer with the design right side down. Then add more drops of water. Straighten it gently until stretched on the sheet protector.

Step 3:

Get your cardboard and apply glue using the paintbrush. Next, place the sheet protector napkin side down on the cardboard with glue. Press with your fingers then remove the sheet protector carefully.

Step 4:

Apply more glue on top of the napkin. Do the same for the remaining napkin pieces and let them dry well. Once dried, cover them again with another layer of white glue.

Step 5:

Cut off the excess edges. Next, cut the images into small and even squares.

Step 6:

Get the tray and decorate it with the cut pieces using hot glue. You can add any pattern that you like. Arrange them with small spacings.

Step 7:

Cover them with grout in small sections then wipe the tile really quickly using the tissue.

Step 8:

After grouting, add diluted bash paint to make the seams less white. Seal the tray with glue and let it dry.
