The idea is absolutely amazing and not nearly as difficult as those rugs that use the round rope stuff. This rug really is amazing, you just sew the center part together and keep going until it grows as big as you need it to be. The rug is made in a large rectangle shape then the teddy bear is cut from that. If you want to just make a regular scrappy rug for general uses in the home, you will just not cut the teddy bear shape out of it, it will be fine to use as it is.
