No Sew Dollar Tree Area Rug

Area rugs can get really expensive, but using dollar tree rugs to make one might just be your solution. This video by yoduvh Essentials is amazing and will show you how to turn cheap rugs from the dollar store into gorgeous area rugs for any room in your home. They are perfect for your living room, foyer, dining room or other room in your house.  

Materials Needed For This DIY:

• Dollar Tree Rugs
• Carpet Tape from Walmart 
• Fabric adhesive
• Non-skid Rug pad

Directions:

Step One

Square of the corner of your rugs. This step is crucial to making sure the rugs fit together correctly. You can use dollar store rugs, or rugs you already own.

Step Two

Cut the rugs into halves and cut up two of the rugs into ½ inch strips. These will serve as your rug connectors. 

Step Three

In an open area, layout the rugs in a pattern you like. You might need to cut some pieces into different sizes to make it all fit. 

Step Four

Using carpet duck tape, you will attach the rugs along the seams on the backside. Next, use your hot glue to glue on the smaller strips you cut and outline each rug square. 

Step Six

Finally, flip the rug over, and using fabric adhesive, attach a non-slip rug pad to the back of the rug.

That’s it. You can repeat this process with other patterns using different rugs to customize it more. You could even create a stencil and use it to create a more elaborate patterned rug.
